a while ago, one of my coworkers quit to go to med school. he came back to visit and described some of the grueling coursework and time he has to put into it. he also told us that his girlfriend and his classmate's others found themselves with a lot of free time when the med students were with cadavers and books. so his girlfriend formed the "widow's" club. they got together to do stuff and talk about how they miss their others very much.

hey diane, wanna get together and do stuff and stuff? :)

a day where everything just goes wrong from the start. a murphy's day. haven't had one of these in a long while. everything from work to health to rory breaking down to family to work. thank goodness for a mama, mr. eric, an old friend, a long long distance phone call, and a daddy too.

trickle down hate.

so bush and this war cut epa's budget. meaning all of my projects get put on hold. meaning i get reassigned to at least 3 months of field work under 2 supervisors that make my life almost unbearable.

i hate bush etc.

i still feel like michelle kwan at nagano in 1998 olympics, like a hanging chad at florida in 2000 elections. should i go for the gold? i've got a few days to decide.

today i ran into 2 reasons i wish i had a camera or could sketch like booce. something to capture these moments of pure chic and pure disaster. what i am attempting to describe does not do justice.

chic:
two young gals just chillin at strada cafe, just minding their own bidness. one was working intently at her pink barbie laptop while the other brought over some drinks for the two. her hands could barely wrap around the cups and matching java jackets. they couldn't have been older than 6 or 7 but they carried themselves with such poise. i snuck to the side and waited to see they were there all by themselves or waiting for the rest of their malibu stacey study group to show.

disaster:
330cl caterpillar excavator gentlely digging a 14 ft deep trench. on the 7th try, at 30 ft of the 7,180 ft to go, water comes rushing into the hole. no problem, pump the water out. can't pump fast enough. at 50 ft of the 7,150 ft to go...a collapse. in an instant, the trench walls cave in. "run for the high ground!" dirt splatters foul water and musty debris on all of us. that costed $50,000.

ladies and gentleman, the sprint!

rabid mosquitoes better step off.
